Hello! I'm Desyne Clarke and I specialize in concept art and animation. Growing up my nomadic family moved across states quite frequently and animation acted as a central part of my life, helping to keep me grounded. Despite these changes, I stayed upbeat and could be found consistently drawing my favorite characters in class and constantly bugging my dad to take me to watch the latest animated films in theaters
Currently, I'm studying in the Film and TV department at New York University. My peers and mentors have provided me with numerous opportunities to grow and develop my skills. Drawing inspiration from my surroundings, I have honed my abilities in storyboarding, character design, concept art, 2D animation, and stop-motion animation. Recently, I have been experimenting with 3D animation in Maya and I hope to incorporate it into my work soon.
As an African American artist living in the United States, my goal is to not only share my unique perspectives but to also tell stories that are universally understood. As animation begins to include more diverse voices, I hope to entertain audiences with characters that are as captivating as those I watched growing up and to collaborate with others who feel the same!
